Hit snooze and woke up at 6am. Better sleep than last night but not great. Weird light green worms kept crawling onto my sleeping bag. Big spider next to my pillow.
Packed up and left around 6:30am. Started calorie, water and electrolytes consumption. Tried to snack every 1-2 hours. Drinking water every 15-30 mins. Had to take a sit down break to apply some blister tape to my left heel. It was hot as expected.
Saw a lot of trail runners on the approach to Mt Laguna. Met another Australian, also from Perth. Made it to Burnt Ranchería campground in Mt Laguna for a late lunch 13:30-14:30. As I was packing up Shane walked up. He did 21 miles by lunch. Beast. I hiked out and filled up with 3 L of water at the water fountain. First time carrying more than 2 L.
Got my first trail magic today. A mom and her two kids and two dogs. Super nice. Had my first cry and told Silvia all my thoughts and feelings. Trail has been hard. I miss her so much. I hiked on and made it to camp at Pioneer Mail picnic area. Talked to Silvia on the phone. There was a family of four here and they offered me some chicken pot pie. I went over and chatted with them after I got off the phone. Shane walked up! He did 33 miles. Super beast mode. We all chatted for a bit. The husband loves the PCT. Setup camp and got ready for bed. Hoping to make it to Scissors Crossing tomorrow.
